Between notifications, deadlines, and mental clutter, our minds can easily become fatigued. This is where Attention Restoration Theory (ART) comes in. Developed by environmental psychologists Rachel and Stephen Kaplan, ART suggests that spending time in nature\u2014or even viewing natural scenes\u2014helps restore our ability to focus and think clearly. Natural environments give our minds a gentle, effortless form of attention called \u201csoft fascination.\u201d This allows the brain to rest and replenish the mental resources that get depleted by daily demands.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Monday Practice <\/strong><em>Attention<\/em> <em>Restoration<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before diving into your tasks, take 10 mindful minutes outdoors (or near a window with a view). Notice the color of the sky, the shape of a leaf, or the movement of the wind. Let your mind drift without judgment. This isn\u2019t time \u201coff\u201d\u2014it\u2019s time restoring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Monday Writing Prompt<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Where does your mind find its \u201csoft fascination\u201d?
